Team Yori Gender Bender

Description

Genderbent Team Yori. Why? Because I can and it was fun! :XD: And I’ve found that sometimes when dealing with stress coloring actually helps for some reason. Originally wasn’t going to do shading, but then decided not to be lazy and added some cell shading. On a side note...I think Junichi turned out really pretty. :XD:

Guy = Asayo (meaning morning world because being a morning person hasn’t changed at all)

Proud, hot headed, outgoing, competitive, oddball, goof, makes friends easily. Though it’s possible she’s slightly more oblivious. How so? She doesn’t quite understand why it’s perfectly fine for boys to show up to training without a shirt, but if she comes in just a chest wrap, their sensei has a panic attack. Terrible at flirting, but gets credit for trying, easily provoked into doing things if someone says a boy can do it and she can’t.

Kaori = Kiyoshi (meaning quiet. Boy were his parents mistaken.)

Outgoing, proud, possibly even more confident and cocky at times, protective much to his teammates annoyance, fireball and somewhat understands the meaning of subtlety. Wears emotions on his sleeve, and leaps headfirst, enjoys showing off to an extent and coming up with games to teach kids at the academy when he’s allowed to help there. Usually dragging his teammates hog tied and gagged to their doom to aid as well.

Junichi = Jun (meaning truthful, often times bluntly so)

A sarcastic little thing, she easily gets under people’s skin with her lax attitude, blunt observations and compared to her teammates is somewhat on the quiet side. Compared to everyone else (sane people) she’s not someone to cross lightly. Jun is very much a flirt, though like Asayo not very good at it, but does it a lot more. Though she also has standards and if anyone cracks a nurse joke, they usually wind up with their vocal cords paralyzed for a few days. Can usually be found drawing, with her nose in a comic book and using her teammates for source material. As well as blackmailing them with it, and finds it both amusing and rewarding to play the part of match maker for Kiyoshi and Asayo.

Yori-sensei = Yosuke-sensei (to give help, and the man tries he really does.)

Yosuke is quiet, finding solace in meditating as well as cleaning and organizing his weapons. However this time of peace is not easily found, mostly because his team drives him crazy and probably has it worse than Yori. How? Instead of only one girl to worry about, Yosuke has two, one of which is usually flirting most boys in sight, another who sees nothing wrong with practicing with explosives fifty feet above the ground, and his male student is usually right there helping light all the fuses. Prone to panic attacks and wondering aloud where he went wrong and how exactly to fix it, he hopes one day his students will reach some level of calmness. This being said, he cares very deeply for his team and considers them very much like his younger siblings. This raises eyebrows from other jounin as they wonder if in a situation his team or a mission would come first. He hasn’t ever said what it’d be, but it’s obvious his team would come first. Like Yori, he can also outdrink pretty much anyone thanks to his team, still be somewhat sober after a night at the bar and actually hold his alcohol better than some twice his size.

And this is genderbent Team Yori. Or Team Yosuke in this case. Let me know what you guys think! I think I’d really like to do more with them somehow in the future.

You can see them individual in my scraps to if you want:

I absolutely love the way you did this genderbend. XD

It's not often that you get to see characters stay really, honestly true to themselves while at the same time fitting in with their new gender roles, but you managed that not only in character design but also in their personalities and some of their more noteworthy quirks.

Out of all of them I have to admit that I like Guy Asayo's the most, but Kiyoshi isn't far behind. He just looks so right as a boy. XD
