Art trade with :icondi4ever:

Finally it's up!! I'm so sorry this took as long as it did, and thank you so much for your patience!! Again, this was another one that I redrew, but I only had to draw it once. Surprisingly though, the hardest part was actually the umbrella. :XD: I had fun with the rain, though I also know that there's still a lot I need to learn when it comes to it, but I think I'm getting better.
I'm also really proud of the shading on this and Naruto's hair.

The story behind this is that Naruto gets back from a mission during the rain, and Hinata sees him coming into the village. Seeing that he's sopping wet, and also gaining courage, she offers to share her umbrella with him, which he gratefully accepts. Of course while noticing how cute she looks. lol.

Anyways I hope you like it and any critique is encouraged! ^_^

This is such a cute NaruHina piece (a secret shipping love of mine. Though I think Hinata could do much better. *coughLeecough*) You did a wonderful job with the coloring, and the expression work makes this romantic scene feel as though she is more confidant in herself and the feelings she has towards him, and that he has also become more mature. (An "old romance' as it were.)

I won't go into critique over the line art as I believe that subject has been more then covered by more qualified individuals, however I will compliment you once more on your color and texture work. The piece has a heavy, wet feel to it which is perfect for the scene, and the choice of dark colors works well here.

As an aside, your rain is in the right direction, but for the effect you were going for it seems a bit "heavy." It clearly indicates rain, but it seems a bit static, and doesn't carry the dynamics of water in high speed. Maybe lightening the heavier lines and using slightly shorter strokes would have given a better impression of high speed water? Either that or some fading. I know that there are some decent rain tutorials out there (this is an okay one [link] but it doesn't cover the more advanced topics like ground interaction.) The ground I think also could have used a more overall "misty" effect, with a more selective use of splash patterns.

However, in the overall scheme of the picture these are nit picky critiques, and I will once again stress that the emotion and "wet" texture of the piece is what really makes it. (That and the fact that it's just plain adorable.)
